I want condoms only
You can attend any of the clinics. We offer a wide range of different types and sizes of condom free of charge. We also provide training on how to use them correctly. Under-25s can also register for the ‘Safety C-Card’ to access free condoms from a network of distribution points across Oxfordshire.
I want emergency contraception
You can attend any of the clinics. We can offer emergency contraception for up to five days after sex. The effect of the medicines is strongest when taken within 24 hours so it is important to attend a clinic as soon as possible.
I want advice about contraception / need a repeat pill / injection
You can attend any of the clinics.
I want a smear test
Smear tests are not offered at any of our clinics. If you need a smear test, please book this with your GP. You may receive a letter from Public Health England saying that you can book an appointment for a smear test at your local sexual health clinic but this information applies to sexual health clinics in other parts of the country, not Oxfordshire.
I want a check up for infections
Do any of the following apply to you?
- I have symptoms – unusual discharge / pain on passing urine / pain or swelling in my testicles / rash in the genital area
- My partner has been diagnosed with gonorrhoea or syphilis
If you answer yes, please go to either Oxford or Banbury. If no, do any of the following apply to you?
- I think I have warts or ulcers
- I have pelvic pain / pain during sex / irregular bleeding or bleeding after sex
If you answer yes, please go to either Oxford, Banbury, Didcot or East Oxford. If no, do the following apply to you?
- I have no symptoms, and do not need to be examined.
For tests for chlamydia and gonorrhoea, you can attend any of the clinics. For blood tests for syphilis and HIV, please go to any of the following clinics: Oxford, Abingdon, Banbury, Bicester, Didcot, East Oxford or Witney.
I want PEPSE (Post Exposure Prophylaxis following sexual exposure to HIV)
Please go to either the Oxford or Banbury clinics. When the clinics are closed please attend the Emergency Department (A&E) at the John Radcliffe Hospital or the Horton Hospital.
I want specialist advice
Please go to either the Oxford or Banbury clinics.
