I’ve been in contact with an infection

If you have been told that somebody you have had sex with has an STI, it is important to get tested.

It helps if you can tell us:

  • what infection you have been in contact with
  • what treatment your sexual partner received

If you can, do not have sex until we know whether you have the infection.

Please book a telephone appointment; you will then be given a clinic appointment if necessary.

HIV

If you think you have been in contact with HIV, it is important to seek help as soon as possible as you may need post-exposure prophylaxis after sexual exposure (PEPSE). See PEPSE for details.
