How to use your self-test kit
Step 1
Remove the cap from the sample tube, without spilling the liquid inside.
Step 2
Open the swab by pulling the cap (with the attached swab) off the tube casing. The case can then be thrown away.
Step 3
Find a comfortable position. For example: squatting or lifting one leg onto a raised surface.
Step 4
Insert the swab 2-3 cm into your rectum. Gently rotate the swab about 5-10 times. Remove the swab.
Step 5
Put the swab into the sample tube and carefully break the shaft at the ‘score mark’, allowing the swab to drop into the tube.
Step 6
Screw the lid back on tightly.
Step 7
Log into your PHR app: you must record each test you are sending back – if you do not do this, your samples WILL NOT be processed.
Step 8
Put all your samples in the clear sample bag and seal tightly by pulling off the foil seal. Place the sample bag back into the box and then into the prepaid envelope.

Disposal of waste
Any waste items can be placed into general household waste – do not flush down the toilet.
