Information alert: Smear tests
We do not offer smear tests. You may receive a letter from Public Health England saying that you can book an appointment for a smear test at your local sexual health clinic; this information applies to sexual health clinics in other parts of the country, not Oxfordshire. Please go to your GP Practice instead.Referrals to other specialist services
Oxfordshire Sexual Health Service provides free, confidential sexual and reproductive healthcare. We assess and treat conditions within our specialist remit, but we are not a general gynaecology, urology or dermatology service.
If, during your appointment, we identify an urgent condition requiring specialist assessment, we will refer you to the relevant department.
For non-urgent conditions requiring further investigation or treatment by another specialty, we will usually advise you to contact your GP who can arrange referral through the appropriate pathway.
Where appropriate, and with your consent, we can provide your GP with details of our examination findings and relevant test results to help avoid unnecessary duplication.
